"The Master Class was extra-ordinary and I felt so proud of the 4 Sweet Adelines who performed for you. You're not only a wonderful singer/performer, you're a generous and talented teacher as well. You made us laugh, brought us to tears and were so generous in sharing your time and music. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! "

"There's no way to thank you and the Richtones enough for the totally memorable Maureen experience.   For me to be rendered speechless is a miracle in itself! I got teary all over again last night as I attempted to describe to my chorus the emotional depth and vocal freedom Maureen elicited from four of our organization's finest singer/performers.   I'm still basking in the joy of it all, and would have been very happy if the class would have lasted even longer.   Her credibility as a teacher was so well validated Sunday morning.   Maureen  is much more than a brilliant performer.  Her willingness to become vulnerable to us while giving her strong, yet gentle instruction again demonstrated her passion for what she does AND for what we do."

"I have never been that vulnerable as a performer..........nor have I ever been that victorious - as a result of her direction.   It is easy to trust Maureen with your voice,  the most personal and intimate of all instruments.   She is truly a master."

Pam Lauffer, Master Class Voice Student

"Maureen blew them all away... as a singer and as a person."

On Sunday, Maureen did a 4+ hour “Surviving the Morning After” Master Class that gave us all a new definition of the term 'master'. Maureen shared her personal anecdotes, performed songs and snippets of songs, sang a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday, shared her personal vocal warm ups, her routine for preparation for a performance, and answered questions. Maureen made us laugh hysterically and cry buckets!! At one point, the entire audience was clutching tissues and sniffing…talk about an emotional roller coaster ride! To top it all off, Maureen also coached four soloists individually in front of the audience. Maureen took a nurturing approach to adding more dimension and color to each singer's already fine performances. The four student/solo singers sang, cried, laughed and visibly grew in their performance capacities after being coached by Maureen.

"It was a life changing experience for me. To be able to go to the emotion rather than the technique. Both the participation as a student and as an attendee was an emotional roller coaster. That emotion has been so wonderful to relive and has made such a difference in the way I enjoy music and the delivery of my music. I'm hoping that it will be evident each and every time I am blessed to be able to sing!

The class itself seemed to have a similar effect on the attendees. I looked up to see my quartet (as well as Pam Lauffer) passing a roll of toilet paper down the aisle! Seems no one had enough kleenex to handle the teary eyes.

All of the emotions/feelings/memories were brought back while watching and enjoying Ms. McGovern's performance in "Little Women". She really lives up to all she shared with us that weekend!

To sum it all up - I'd participate as many times as she would allow me! It was so totally indescribable! Thanks for the opportunity of a lifetime...."

"Every great once in a while you have an experience that becomes a primary building block in your personal growth.  That would describe the weekend I saw Maureen McGovern perform with Rich-Tone Chorus.  She shared her talent with such joy and abandon and she was a thrill to watch and to hear. Then observing her unselfish sharing during the Master Class where she helped singers walk into her world of performing with emotional abandon and freedom was profound.  The things I learned that weekend have influenced all aspects of my life from teaching to my own performing.  I now strive to allow the “heart to transcend the technique” as I observed Maureen McGovern do. "There are many lives that were transformed by this past weekend with Maureen's singing, her very presence among us,  and the magic of that Master Class..."

"I really enjoyed the heck out of the Maureen McGovern master class.  I don't know how to explain this but to be able to hang out in a big group where EVERYONE embraces the nuance and emotion of music is really cool.  I know I don't technically fit in with the crowd but that really doesn't matter, I enjoyed it regardless.  And I *do* delve into songs all the time.  It's what I do at home alone instead of watching television.  All the details and the feeling and reason and all of  it... not just pitch and time.  So its really cool to watch people do that in a live, no-holds-barred setting."

"Sylvia, a chapter member who is in her late 60s,  said to me privately that as she thought about  the weekend,  and thought about Maureen as an artist and as a person, she felt Maureen's parents must have been so very proud to have Maureen for a daughter. "

"Seeing Maureen perform and freely share her gifts with us in class touched me on a level that doesn't happen often in life.  I can truly say that being at the Show and Master Class changed who I am and as a result, who I will become.  One of the things that I find the most fascinating is that not all of the life lessons were about music, but about heart, soul, sharing, pain, joy, loss, love…. all of the things that are most important to each of us in our lives.
