When I was asked to consider recording several additional cuts for the re-release of my beloved Bergman CD, I was thrilled. The overwhelming dilemma in selecting material for the original CD was what to leave out!

These three new recordings contain two more songs I have always loved by the Bergmans and their respective composers, Michel Legrand and Dave Grusin -- and also a rarely heard gem by the Bergmans and jazz great Roger Kellaway.

"What matters most" is hearing the lyrics of Alan and Marilyn Bergman..........I can't wait to do Volume II.

This CD is dedicated to the heroes of the Muscular Dystrophy Association who make "Ordinary Miracles" happen every day.

Liner Notes:

". . .Sometimes they (songwriters) are fortunate in having someone blessed with an extraordinary instrument interpret their songs. Listen to the voice of Maureen McGovern: it "possesses a special quality and its own character." It's a remarkable "instrument of expression." The musical sound it produces is pure, clear, unerring. Her "compass of tones" never ceases to amaze."
