John Redsecker was the original drummer in the following Broadway productions: Barnum, Anything Goes, Marilyn, Mayor, Song and Dance, My Favorite Year, Meet Me in St. Louis, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and most recently in The Little Mermaid.
As a member of the Coffee Club Orchestra for City Center’s Encores series he has played in and recorded the revivals of many classic shows including the Broadway productions of Chicago , Wonderful Town and Pajama Game.
He has worked with Peter Allen, Cab Calloway, Kristen Chenoweth, Barbra Cook, Cissy Houston, Leslie Gore, Jane Krakowski, Nancy LaMott, Kathie Lee, Susan Lucci, Patti LuPone, Mandy Patinkin, Chita Rivera, Ann Reinking and Dawn Upshaw.
He has also performed in Pops concerts around the country with many artists, including Maureen McGovern at Carnegie Hall with the NY Pops; the 2000 Millenium New Year’s Eve concert with Barbara Cook and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and at the Clinton White House.
John can be heard on many recordings, including the soundtracks of the films Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas.
